The little Aldi "Dobson" is back

Was in Aldi for the first time in ages yesterday and noticed indeed they have brought back the little Nat Geo Dobsonian again this year for Christmas, and still for $59.95 (I got mine for the girl 2 years ago for $29 as it was missing CD).

These are the SAME as the Celestrons and others rebadged. Some are poor, some are good. The one we got is surprisingly good centrally (with copious coma off centre!)

It prompted me to get hers out and dust it off for the upcoming Christmas get away. The supplied EP's are rubbish, but slip in a decent EP and they are surprising.

Had one for while, it travels lots and gives good images. Mostly used with a 3-6mm TV zoom and an 11mm. The standard eyepieces provide poor images but if they attract another amatuer thats good.
