moan about W 7

Ok I used my obs lappie (Windows 7) On Friday and then tonight opened it up and it has wiped all my TheSKYX settings. Had to re log in with my password then redo all the settings. So I have no pointing data etc either.
What would do that?
It has been plugged in and not used between sessions and indoors.
Grrrrr!

Hi Graham,

Assuming TheSkyX itself is not to blame, this sort of behaviour can be caused by minor file-system corruption -- i.e., the OS not successfully writing the configuration file / registry entries to disk. This can happen if the hard disk is old, has developed bad sectors or if the OS is not properly shut down.

If it happens again I'd recommend running "chkdsk /f /r" from the Windows command prompt.
