IC 5267 - A Galaxy Belonging to the Grus Cluster

Hi,

This is a very controversial galaxy. In terms of classification, at least in the documentation I have access it is described as: "CONTROL GALAXY LACKING UNRESOLVED EMISSION"


Recently. it has been found a supernova in this galaxy


Mag: B=11.4, V=10.47
RA: 22h 57m 13.6s
Dec: −43° 23′ 46″
Size: 5.754′ x 4.073′

Luminance: 37x600sec
Red: 18x600sec
Green: 8x600sec
Blue: 14x600sec


Telescope: SkyWatcher Quattro 10" F/4 Carbon Fibre Newtonian


Camera: Starlight Xpress Trius SX-694 mono


Mount: AZ-EQ-6



Guiding: Starlight-XPress Loadstar



Software: PixInsight

Nice looking image Fernando. Maybe you could boost the saturation a bit, but the detail is quite nice. I really like the field of view too.

An excellent galaxy image Fernando, lovely fine delicate arms and general glow, great job An H694-Fast Newt combo is pretty capable

Indeed I am Steve, despite the transitory dry nebulosity that appeared on the sky, uncommon this time of the year. To illustrate, out of 70 frames of luminance captured, I had to discard 33 of them !!
