FTF3515-TAK FSQ106ED Focuser Question

The Starlight Instruments FTF3515-TAK FSQ106ED 3.5" Dual Speed Focuser, does this supplement the existing Takahashi Focuser or replace it?

Hans, I would think this replaces it as the FTF3515-Tak has a M98x1 thread on the draw tube and the adapter looks to be about the same size as the tube diameter of 125mm thus it could not connect to the rear of the Tak focuser.

Although the M98x1 could be a misprint on the FT site, I thought the thread was an M92x1

The Tak thread is M92x1, so likely a misprint.

I have seen a couple Taks with them now. Owners seem to like them, but having had a few FT's, I cannot see the advantage.

Moonlite also now make an M92 sized focuser for the FSQ and other similar sized Taks. Price is not QUITE as scary as FT though, though still a LOT.

In all honesty, an original Tak, adjusted properly and fitted with an MEF is as good as a FT.
