I have shot numerous frames around Sagittarius and surrounding regions.
Zuiko 150mm F2.0 @F2.0. Olympus OMD EM1 30 seconds iso1600.
Stitched in MS ICE.
The original image exceeds 1000megapixels or 1 gigapixel
The thumbnail looks wonderfully three-dimensional. Like being there.
I don't think we're game to click on your links because we don't know which one is the 1 gigapixel download. Could you edit to indicate the sizes of the linked images?
The thumbnail does look impressive for sure. That Zeis lens must perform exceptionally well if you are running this wide open. I agree with MnT in that I will wait for an indication of the download commitment before clicking on the hi res links.

Don't fear none of the links are one gigapixel download I have provided crops of the images so the last one shows fully zoomed in and the others are partial crops.
Oh also the lens is not by Ziess rather from the Olympus Four Thirds Zuiko Digital Top Pro range but it used to hold the world record for resolution and the glass surfaces are supposed to be polished to the same accuracy as a human hair within a baseball stadium!
Could be why the Chromatic Aberration unlike any other telephoto is actually lowest when wide open at F2.0!!! Resolution peaks at F2.2! One of the finest optics ever made on the planet!
That lens certainly performs beautifully! How many exposures were you putting into each panel? One of the beauties is that the black unfinished areas give an indication as to your FOV
FOV is 8.2 degrees as the panorama was so massive I have about 2-6 minutes of exposure or 4-12 images per panel in the middle portions and only one or two images per panel in the edges or 30 seconds to 1m exposure hence the banding noise in the edges.
I plan to cover the outer areas a couple more times turning the camera to dither the noise. I am not sure how many people would attempt a pano this large but good to know there are a few people on this forum mad enough.
The first link I like the best. I like the tonal range and the colours look quite natural to me. That image is very similar to the one taken by a chap who flew around the world with 6 FLI cameras and 50mm lenses a few years back to image the entire Milkyway (sorry I cannot remember his name).
The only thing really is the panel of the mosaic being visible. Other than that it is a terrific field of view.
Wow, lots of resolution and looking good too. These mosaics can be huge projects. I have done something similar, but not to the same resolution, using a zeiss 135mm f2.0 of a full frame 6D. Working on it now actually - data from the Gum Nebula (Vela) through the galactic core to Cygnus. Simply taking months!
I think the key is to keep everything consistent from panel to panel - exposure, focus, ambient conditions (as much as possible), etc. It's like you slot into a routine for each panel.
Has the oly been modded? Geez - that 150 f2.0 looks good! It's a good part of the sky to have a crack at it. Keep up the good work!
Sounds like we had the same idea Troy I have continuous data of varying widths covering from the Carina Nebula to the Eagle Nebula. This summer I plan to cover from Carina to Orion.
My camera is unmodded but I am planning to get a modded Pen from EBAY to complement this lens. I have been keeping all settings fixed for all frames as you say even RAW processing in Lightroom.
