ASV Galactic Centre Star Party 12th Sept

I decided to head up to Heathcote on Saturday for this Party. It is about a 3.5 to 4 hour drive from Colac. Despite lovely blue skies over Colac, there was cloud all the way from Geelong to Heathcote that persisted until sunset and then broke up right on cue.
Had a very pleasant evening mainly nabbing galaxies in Pavo. Several fainter than mag 13 were easily visible.
About midnight we had a band of cloud come over but that cleared out after an hour so we carried on.
Had first glimpse of M42 for the season about 2-30am

Lovely, I was hoping to go but I am really tied up with study at the moment, that should be finished about two days before SVAC!
