From dark skies of Gloucester NSW

Hi all.
Spend the weekend at relo's place in Gloucester NSW. Houghy kindly lent me his Polarie startracker. I used my 600D and 50mm lens on it.
Images are
Comet Catinina among heaps of stars. 7x5 mins full size [URL="http://d1355990.i49.quadrahosting.com.au/Scott/catilinagloucester7x5mins50mmf3.5x6 00d.jpg"]here[/URL . Also full res .crop of comet.

Milky Way area 5x5 mins full size here
Rho Ophiuchus area 13x5 mins, taken on Sat night that was much warmer, full size here
All pics unguided on the Polarie whose polar scope allowed very precise polar alingment. all pics at F3.5 and ISO 800.
Scott

This is exactly why we love going up to Bretti each New Moon. Bretti is 35kms northwest of Gloucester.

Some lovely results Scott, you must be quite happy with them, especially considering your current (and past!) state of health

Houghy, he's the man, always prepared to help a fellow astroimager/observer, that's why we love him so much ..I'd give him a hug if he was here now!

Mike

Nice images. I'll have to give the polar scope a go with the polarie to see if I can get to 5 min images. That would be fantastic. I think the best I've done is about 1 or 2 min.

How many darks did you do?
