It got to 31°C today and we're expecting 15 overnight. It's fair to say I won't be sleeping!
I know people always winge that it's too cold in winter and too hot in summer, but I really despise the heat. Give me a -4° morning any day!
I've got no air con at my place so gets hot inside real quick! 31C again tomorrow. Gets cool quicky after sunset though. Wonder if the overnight temps are warmer here with the river/wetlands and town compared to the flat prairie at the official station.

I purposely didn't check tomorrow's temperature. At least you can jump in the river for a dip, although it's probably still freezing cold.
No aircon! Temp outside drops like a brick though after sundown, already only 16C at 9.30pm, cooler than Melbourne! On the flip side, as soon as the sun rises it skyrockets. At 6am it's cold, by 8am it's T-shirts. These big temp ranges are unusual to me, rarely ever get these in Melbourne due to the Permanent Nuclear Winter™.
Just another clear night outside btw
Summer is going to be interesting that's for sure.

Haha I was going to set up last night, but there was a giant huntsman dangling from a thread on our verandah and I could just imagine what would have happened if it fell on my head with my hands full of astronomy gear!
The mornings and evenings are absolutely gorgeous, if you manage to avoid the mozzies. Normally by 10am in summer it's too hot to be outside. My father-in-law was saying that a hotter than normal summer is forecast for this year, so that's something to look forward to *insert sarcasm*
I am not looking forward to it cause I have not been able to burn off or mow the grass so if there is a fire my place will go for sure.
Medical issues made it impossible to do the usual burn off.

Could you get the local firies in to give a hand? I'm not sure if they would cover that sort of stuff.
I sortta don't ask for help silly but that's the way it is...
I hope I will get better so I can mow but I just can't ask for help .
I help people not the other way around.
Sorry I mentioned it really.
If the fire comes I will lite up around the house get a break and bolt.
Not supposed to lite up but it's the only way to save stuff really.
It should be ok..

My partner is the same he works his butt off for others, but can't seem to ask for any help. Fingers crossed things work out for you.
The 'authorities' have not been able to hazard reduce here for 10 years. 450 metres from the Royal National Park, which is deep in fuel on the ground.
It's a real concern but we are a out if any fires start as it will be catastrophic.
Last time I had two houses. Put everything in one to repair the other. Fire got the one with everything in it...
On the bright side had a fresh start with no money but to get me over the loss my Son got me my first scope..to cheer me up...so I took up astronomy.
The big loss was my mate Tui (see below) came out to see the damage and got bitten by a spider and later died.
All stuff to build your character as they say.
Why am I a tuff old bug... I have no idea why.
Nice lightning show last night. High based storms are awesome, rarely ever seen in an oceanic climate like Melbourne - and that's assuming the coastal stratus puke doesn't obstruct it.
Got a bit of thunder here. Big storm cells to the south and saw some lightning out of those. Decided to go for a chase but left it too late. Headed towards Mildura and then turned off toward Loxton on that road Stantziki rd or whatever its called. Turned south onto a dirt road and there were tree branches and twigs all over the place. Must've been a pretty badass storm. Arrived back home in heavy rain.
