Galaxy NGC253
Hi Guys,
Taken last night on my 10" LX200R at focal length 2000mm F8
20 x 5 minute autoguided exposures ISO400
Cooled canon 350D.
Sensor temp 2°c
Ambient 18°c
Humidity 70%
LPR filter used
Flats darks and bias frames applied in Imagesplus V2.8 finished in Photoshop CS2.
I have fixed up the reflection I had with the reducer but will never be able to get away with vignetting and field curveture at the edges, so you will see elongated stars all around the edges...no need to complain about that it's something I will have to live with or look at purchasing the lumicon OAG to replace my FR.
Pretty happy with the reults compared to last year.
High rez warning 1.7mb

Hi Tony
Wow - the detail in the arms of the galaxy is stunning - I love it!

Stunning Tony.
Who cares about the vignetting at the edges, it's beyond your control.
The image itself is magnificent, well done Strike a Light.

Nice one there, Tony, lots of detail, pity about the field curvature.
Cheers

I agree, the stars at the edges are as good as most of us normal guys get in the middle, and with THAT in the middle, who cares what the edges look like.
Nice shot Tony.

Unsure at the moment...I am pushing for the STL11000 monochrome...pixel size is good for the SCT focal length but the chip size is way to big...I need to plan for scopes I may have in the future more then what I have now...I dont want to keep buying SBIG camera or any dedicated ccds for that matter.
I's still thinking..it could even be the ST-2000
