horsehead under mist...

I dont even know why i bothered imaging at all under a very cloudy misty sky. I can probably only see about 20 bright stars tonight.. but anyway i only captured 2x5 mins iso 800 with mist until the thick clouds came in.

I think i kinda fixed my collimation issue. the stars are abit elongated but not as bad as i had it previously. was a complete fluke!
here's a small version as the original size pic is really bad.

Eric,

On ya, mate!

Pity about the crappy weather conditions.

I'm glad to see that you were able to bring about the red in the Horsehead region. There's hope for me, yet!

By the way, it was six degrees whilst I was packing up!

Regards,
Humayun

i think that we just love astronomy so much we sometimes wont accept the clouds keeping us inside, and still continue despite the conditions. or maybe we just have alot of hope

ya gotta admit even when you go out in the crappy weather, its much more fun then doing nothing all night inside the house right?

i bet the next time you image this in good conditions your gonna come out with a beauty

I'm just about to pack my gear into my trailer/car for the long weekend - dark skies! Working too, but not too much - watch the clouds roll in now!!

Nice pic though Eric..... You should point the DSI at it.....

That's a pretty damn good horsehead. Love the colours, and the darkness of the nebulae gives the image an aura of mystery.

Top effort Eric, i was watching the clouds all last night while i was out working, it was a write off i would have said, but you have still managed to pull out a heap of detail, and as Houghy said with an unmodded cam.

If you get the mod done, your images will be some of the best around, your persistance and dedication will make sure of that.

Well done
