I read the article on smh and then the linked Nasa one and still can't find info on the star it's orbiting ?
Daft question: Is this single star at 1400 light years away likely to be visible using an 8" Newt ?

I'd like to have a look if possible - see if I can see the little green men waving back...
<edit - due to the size and likely luminosity of the star it would be mag 6 at about 50-60 light years so certainly not even remotely visible with the naked eye but presumably (rough calc = 23x ?) visible with an amateur scope if you know what you're looking for - Nasa have it at RA 19h44m00.89s DEC +44d16m39.2s.>
