Mt Buffalo

Hello all,

It is no secret that one of my favorite places to go and image the night sky from is Mt Buffalo in Victoria. I have put together a short movie of some of the timelapse sequences I have gathered up there over the past few years. I hope you enjoy.

https://vimeo.com/131402531

Tech details:
Sequences shot with either a Canon 6D or 5D MkII and Samyang 14mm, 24mm or Canon 50mm lenses. Motion in some sequences done with a Vixen Polarie or a homemade dolly/slider. Edited and put together using LR, LRTimelapse, AE and Movie Studio Platinum.

Cheers

Greg

Well done Greg!

The sunrise sequence lighting up the mountain side with the clouds coming in straight on is fantastic!

That was the moon rising, not the sun, but thanks anyway Rod. It was one of the few times I have been glad of some cloud coming in as it was very cold that night and I was looking for an excuse to finish up.

Hey Greg, thats a great video! Best part for me was the bit where the LMC & SMC appear from behind the rock.

Encouraging also in that I actually have quite a bit of raw material myself but just can't be bothered putting it together - too much other stuff to do. This helps a lot!

Wow Greg, that was fantastic. That homemade dolly/slider must be pretty good, sequences with it were brilliant. Real top work Greg.

Its pretty dodgy, but it works. Picture a clock drive, reeling in a bit of fishing line, attached to a little skateboard and that will give you a bit of an idea of what I put together. It is not the smoothest motion straight out of the camera but a little bit of post work fixes it up nicely.
