Outback Queensland

We recently did a quick trip to outback Queensland to visit my step daughter who is Jillarooing on Chatsworth Station.

Here's a few photos from that trip.

1. Burnham Yards.
2. Chatsworth Station Driveway.
3. Datchet Downs Homestead.
4. Near Stockyard Bore.
5. Sunrise silouette.
6. Steam engine in pride of place.
7. Outback fuel.
8. I say "moo" OK?

Looks pretty remote. Amazing scenery! So, when are you relocating your obs?

It would be a great place for an obs out there.

unfortunately we had very unusual weather while we were there - overcast the whole time. Didn't even get a look at the legendary outback dark skies.

It was my first time that far out in the savanna/desert. I can see the appeal.

Thanks for posting these Al, they're a pleasure to look at, and you can be surprised at how vast and flat the country can be when you haven't been out back for a while.
That Spacemaster would have some collector drooling, even in this condition. And I am rapt in that corrosion pattern.
A nice set of photos.
Cheers - Trev

Thanks Trevor. there's a lot of stuff out there that would have collector's drooling... the steam engine, the Spacemaster... even the 3 point linkage grader blade was better than the one I use at home! The corrosion pattern especially caught my eye. If you wanted to make that textured finish on a project, you would have a hard time!
