50mm Widefield

Hi all, I put in a session last night at a dark site west of Melb.

I had planned to do a drift align with the ed80 and eq5, but on and off rain soon put a hold on that.

It was like, get the mount level, then cover everything up with my jacket as the rain came down, uncover again, put the illuminated e/p in, oh not again, cover it back up

A heap of fun this astro stuff

Anyways, i decided to retire the ed80 without shooting through it, and just do some wide field on the roughly aligned mount.

This is a pic through the 5d with the 50mm f/1.4 @ f2.8
58 second single shot @ ISO 1600.

Processed in pscs2, noise removal in pureimage, and resized in m$oft digital image pro.

I wish i had a few of these to stack, as i was suprised at the amount of detail in it with only 58 seconds.

Great shot there. The full sized chip covers a big area with the 50mm lens and its large pixels are very sensitive to light

Trevor,

My goodness, only 58 seconds? That is incredible!

I, too, would love to see a heap of these (say, 2 hours worth?) stacked. phw0ar!

As always, magic.

Humayun
