Upcoming Celestial Event - 28 Sept. Moon, Antares, M4

Hi

Looking at Astronomy 2006, for Sept (Page 57) I notice there is a close conjunction of the Moon, Antares and M4 shown on 28th Sept 2006 around 6:00pm. Here is a screen print from Starry Night Pro.

Cheers

Dennis

A meaningless ""bump", other than to remind those with clear skies and the will to observe/image, that this event is scheduled for early this evening.

Cheers

Does it "miss" for you guys. It is an occultation here (Godzone). Hopefully it is fine.

Lucky bugger Gary. I was just checkin' how our NZ cuzzies were going to fair. No occultations here, though the Tasmanians get close.

See there are advantages of living on the doorstep of Antarctica Well at least one

I looked at the area last night and at 6 it is still very bright as in the sun has only just set. Might not be able to get it because of the glowing skies, but 30 min later is ok. The other thing is here we have a southerly change making everything very misty and cloudy. i hope it has holes later this evening!!!!!!!!!!
