Thank you all for this award...

Delighted to receive two Gold awards (90+) and two silver awards with Distinction (89 & 87) at the AIPP Victorian Professional Photographer of the Year Awards yesterday.

I was also awarded the title of AIPP Victorian Science, Wildlife and Wild Places Photographer of the Year for 2015.

Whilst not a strictly Astrophotography competition, and by no means the Malin Awards as this event is only for professional photographers, (last years winner photographed Polar bears in the Arctic). It seems that winning this has generated a lot of interest in AP in the pro photography community, so hopefully we'll see even more AP entries next year. It's also worth noting that all entries in this competition are print only, which added another level of complexity to the process.

I just wanted to acknowledge the huge amount of input, technical support, help and occasional deserved butt kicking that you have all been kind enough to give me on this forum to get my images up to standard.

I realise I have still got a looong way to go!

Andy

Thanks everyone for you kind and supportive comments.

I regard this as a win for the entire AP community, broadening interest in our chosen field and hopefully turning a few more heads our way.

Who knows? Maybe it's the start of something and even more pro photographers will take on AP as well as their chosen day to day work.

Anyway, thanks again and please keep the honest constructive criticism coming on my future posts!

Cheers
Andy
