Run chook, RUN!

3 hrs 40 mins on IC2944. Tak FC-100 fluorite doublet, SBIG ST-2000XM with Baader LRGB and 7nm H-a filters, UV/IR filter, IDAS LP filter. Vixen GPD2mount. Shot from inner suburbia.

Needs a LOT more time, since it is still SO noisy. But, it's my first image in 6 months.

Want to add another 6 hours and then call this chook cooked.

Here you may examine the noise in detail http://www.astrobin.com/full/176758/0/

Much less noise than you claim. Every single one of those squillion or so bright pixels is a star. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

If I can only fix the flare from lambda centaurus I will be happier. Should have masked it before processing (looks nice in the preprocessed stacked image).

Thanks for the comments.

Thanks Trevor, but I wouldn't go that far

I haven't even done any darks, bias or flats! ONE day...

I don't understand why you don't do these?
They are essential and easy to do.
They will dramatically help your images.
And are weather independent

Thanks for the comments.

Nice image Lewis and colouring is quite natural.

As for the flare, you could use scissors...

TOTAL reprocess, now with darks, bias and defect repair.

Just need flats soon and another bunch of photonic hours...
