Astronomy Themed Stained Glass

Here is my wife Gail's latest stained glass project entitled Lakeside Milky Way. A labour of love done just for me . It turned out really well I reckon!

A total of about 420 pieces took many months to complete (on weekends)

Cheers, Marcus

Stained glass

Seriously attractive and interesting. It leaves me with a really strong impression of our dynamic Milky Way.

Excellent !! I like it a lot. Even the dog is immortalised. Captures the wonderment of the skies above.

Really good!

My better half did some stained glass for a small window next to my front door. I know it would take a LOT of time and effort to do something as good as this starry night.

Gday Marcus

Very nice bit of work, and amazing how many people end up with "astro" related stained glass.
Here is a link to another astro related stained glass effort

Anyone who has played with Meade scopes would probably know of Dick Seymour, and the above is what his missus made for their house.
Gotta be proud of anything like that.

Gail asked me to thank you for the kind remarks!

Yes, it is special! As some of you know, there is a lot of work that goes into a piece like this. Putting the pattern together, selecting the glass, cutting & grinding the glass (420 pieces) and foiling and soldering. Some real blood is always spilled to! Sure makes me appreciate, all the more, my very special wife!

Cheers, Marcus

Well done to the boss what a lovely cartoon on the heavens and of the milky way . If you are every close to the Garrison church at the Rocks I did a small stain cartoon of the Z Special unit which my father was a member of .The last place Is saw it was in the window of the hall next to the church.

A nice interpretation........and quite a bit of work.

I closed my s/glass studio down over twenty years ago, still have some special glass and all my tools put away.......and I won't hijack this thread with pics.
