Far south, wide and narrow...

Some recent images I've taken at my new dark-sky site in southern Tasmania.

I'm still experimenting (and not going deep, in terms of integration time or subexposure length) because I'm biding my time whilst I get my observatory built and then get my mount etc. permanently set up. I've concluded that a fixed setup is really needed in these fickle Tassie weather conditions, as these skies have a habit of changing from great to terrible, and back again, at a moment's notice!

Attached are as follows (details and higher rez in Astrobin links):

-- Carina-Vela-Centaurus-Musca region (unmodded Sony NEX-3 DSLR with 18mm lens): http://www.astrobin.com/164129/

-- LMC (Sony NEX-3 DSLR with 55mm lens): http://www.astrobin.com/156460/C/
