Jupiter 3/3/15

Good seeing on 3/3, and along with some monochrome filtered work i took the 5D MK III out again for contingency.

1500 frames x 80%, 5D MK III, Celestron EdgeHD 925 @ f/40 ish.

managed to even get some detail in the GRS this time

Very nice image. Yes, it seems that we captured the images at nearly the same time

I capture right around 21:30 AEST for 50 seconds = approx 11:30 UT on March 3. so you got it 9 hours 15 minutes after me, close to a full rotation later, but not quite, yet they look much closer than 40 minute rotation difference. interesting

Thanks Dunk! i just finished my IR G B stack from the night after. I think i need more practice. Attached. Clearly colours not aligned, purely due to my strategy in making alignments in WinJUPOS. Morale of story is always use the DSLR for backup . Plenty of pixels, so i have a strategy in mind with DSLR and WinJUPOS.. oh and of course much more practice with monochrome!
