APOD has an interesting image today.

PN NGC 2438 is 3000 light yrs and
OC M46 is 5400 light yrs

Hey guess what? I have the same planetary NGC 2438
However he missed out on getting a much fainter one called M1-18, I got that on left side of pic
Taken back in early 2006

M 1-18 is mag 14.0 and 30'' across according to Kent Wallace's list.
NGC 2438 is mag 11.5 and 70" across.
