Thumbs up IIS Member pluto featured on Instagram!

I hadn't seen it mentioned here and I know he probably won't blow his own trumpet but Hugh (pluto) was featured on Instagram's main account yesterday. He woke up to 17,000 new followers and his Helix Nebula they featured is approaching a million likes (!?!).

Check it out : http://instagram.com/p/zIhovthQQP/?modal=true

Well Done @astro_hugh

Thanks guys, it's pretty crazy.

The nicest thing about it is the number of people who hadn't realised that it was possible for 'normal' people to see and image this kind of stuff and are now pursuing what they had previously considered impossible.

I know it's a cliche but if my love of pretty pictures drives even a few to pursue their interest in a science then that's a wonderful thing

Just a shame they featured the half finished one and not the nice final one, but I can't complain.

Thanks Dylan

Yeh it could be worse... they could have added the "Nashville" filter to it
