coma corrector for F/5 Newton
Hello Everybody,
does anybody know where in New Zealand or Austrlia I can buy a coma corrector for my F/5 Newton?
I searched the web but could only get results from Itally and Germany.
Nothing at Andrews or Bintel or NZ shops.
Look forward to your replies.
Cheers

Have a look on "Trade me" under telescopes. GSO Coma Corrector is listed.

You'll need a Baader MPCC. Very easy to find, even second hand. They're very popular.

many thanks for your replies. I shall give trade me a go. The AstroNZ one is F4 or faster unforrunately. But I might ask Andrew to let me try one. Thanks again, guys!

The GSO one is great value but you need to extend the design focal plane by 19mm to optimise it - GSO didn't engineer the tube correctly . There's a massive thread on Cloudy Nights on the subject .

The Cloudy Nights thread refers I think to the Astrotech branded one, but should be same unit as available here as gso or bintel.

If weight is a concern the Baader MPCC is lighter than the GSO and importantly the Baader screws directly onto a DSLR with proper backspacing to the standard 55mm sensor setback.
