H-Alpha Sun 20th Jan

Hi All

Just testing a new camera for solar work. This is my first reasonable image as I come to grips with the camera's operation. Taken through a Lunt 80mm using a Basler Ace camera. Thanks for looking.

Thanks David. I got the Basler ACE Aca1920-155um. I think it is a great camera, I just have to get a hardware upgrade to the observatory PC. In theory it will do 155 FPS at 8 bit depth, but the best I have got from my old desktop is 34 FPS. It is understandable given it does not have an SSD and it is an I5. Have one on order and USB3.0 pcie adapter. If I can't get it above 75FPS, then it is time for a new CPU and motherboard!
