I got a black eye (M64)

M64 black eye galaxy 71 x 30 seconds, 8" F4 Bintel Newtonian, Baader MPCC MKIII, Pentax K-5, HEQ5 Pro unguided. Imaged out of the bedroom window on Australia day / night.

I've always wanted to image this but never got around to it before.

Thanks Simon. It does the job! Not the best for objects near the zenith though.

Nice Black eye Kevin!

Good detail, it's reasonably bright galaxy, helps with short exposures.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Justin. Yes I noticed it had quite a high surface brightness and had to be careful not to burn out the core, not like that NGC 300 galaxy that hardly shows on subs.

Thanks Ross. The view is "adequate". Just wish the window was bigger lol.

Thanks Mike. I was surprised how well it came out for a short run of subs.
