Ngc1579

A truly special object, really not much photographed due to the difficulties it presents: excluding the central part the rest is very weak. I invested several nights for shooting. Conditions have changed, but I tried to put it all together at best.

NGC1579 or "Trifid of the North", located in the Perseus constellation:

I hope you'll find it interesting.

All the best,
Leo

A great looking photo Leo.

Beautiful colours.

A new object for me...reminds me of the Flame Nebula.

Lovely work Leo, an interesting less highlighted small region, nicely processed of course with excellent handling of the dynamic range...I'm just thinking, is that outer dust really that coal dust black ...not that it matters anyway, still looks good

Thanks !!

@Mike .. a lot of data,27 hours is a crazy thing for me, i think i have done 2/3 times at all. But this is a really hard one ... in my web page there's a link to APOD from Adam Block. Also if you search there's few image that show coloured this dust. I found in my data a green color that i removed due to the airglow but this happen only for the very weak signal. I found one image that show the whole area and a maroon dust, this, i think this is a great image:

I can stay more conservative, but the dust is present on the luminance data. In any case the RC gain a lot of details ..
