Taken from a lovely dark site in far north-eastern victoria. 14 shots of 1 min at 3200, did my very first separate comet stacking in Pixinsight, a challenge worth pursuing, it works very well.

I really like the colour accuracy. A delightful result.

I also recently purchased a A7s , but am not sure I would want to have it modified.

Did you use the camera prior to the mod? What mod was done? Noticeable differences?

Thanks Chaps.

Peter, sadly I bought the camera already modded from JTW Astro, so I can't report on the differences. You'll love the camera.

Excellent shot almost perfect I would try to blend away the dark halo around the comet to it is more seamless with the background

good one Simmo, well captured, this is where I reckon the A7s has quite a bit of advantage over the competition.

Great image. I have tried using PixInsight for comets and although I have managed to get the comet alignment to work, I have not been able to master the blending of the star field and the comet image. Is this trial and error or is there a secret there somewhere?

Sweet image Simon,

I wonder what that camera could do if it was also cooled!

Fabulous image. One point there is a processing artefact around the head of the comet of a dark patch. I presume that's from the removal of the comet in the stars only layer. Probably should have used a median combine there to smooth it out.

Greg.
