More Processing on Lovejoy

Star alignment, multi-exposure layers. 1x180s added to 10 x 180. Then inverted to show extended tail structure and some background nebulae.

http://www.astrobin.com/148765/

you get the fixed stars, plus some nice detail. Tad noisy, resulting from the heavy non-linear stretch.

Superb image John. I can see as much when re-inverted to positive. Wish I could take comet images like that.

Nicely done. It sure is a dramatic comet through an imaging scope. Its also quite bright visually now if you know where to look.

I wonder if its going to put on a show like the last Lovejoy comet once its at perihelion or just past it.

Greg.

Nice John. The comet detail is a real attraction now. I have been imaging it two nights in a row. I got the disconnection on Thursday night our time and last night I went for longer subs. Though I doubt my effort will be a patch on this set you have here.
