M46, M47, NGC2438 and maybe NGC2423

Hi Everyone, a bit over-processed but I mostly want to bring out NGC2438. I have just started to use Photoshop after using GIMP for a long time.

So far Photoshop has proven itself a good piece of kit. Once the software expires i will be trying other software until i finally decide the final one to settle with.

Nicely done, Malcom. All the objects that you have listed including the PN and cluster NGC 2423 at about 2 o'clock are crystal clear.

You've got good colour in the bright K0 class star toward about 7 o'clock. Although most open cluster stars are white or blue-white, the SAO and PPM catalogues show a handful of faint orange stars in M47. You might perhaps be able to bring out more colour in the stars with different, gentle processing, and then combine the two versions.

Thanks for the info Mike, When I do some more processing I will attempt to locate more information like that to confirm processing. Right now I have a load of work to do before I can get back into processing.
