Dunno what it's worth, but I used to go detecting with a rubbish $50 detector from DSE many moons ago. Used to find money down the beach in the sand after a busy weekend by bathers. Even found a Victorian penny at one beach, along with a gold watch.

Take your $100 and go to blackjack table.

Seriously,I have owned many detectors, those cheap ones no good.

If on a budget, check out 'Bounty hunter' brand, there cheap one -around $250 ish would be a much better buy.

My boss's mate started out with one of these cheap detectors as a hobby.

From the stuff that he found, he used it to upgrade his detector gear. Now hes got like a miners grade detector that can detect really deep stuff.

He scouts locations with a historical past for possible relics.
