Antares 1529 6" f 6.5 refractor. Big bright views from a relatively well corrected achromat. a lot easier to handle than an F8.
These were advertised at the time as being 'semi-ED' which is probably a bit of an overstatement but overall its an instrument I have been very pleased with. Stars are disks to the edge - no appreciable coma or SA & colour is very well corrected.
I am upgrading however and I need to make room.
Whats included: OTA with collimatable lens cell (more recent versions of this scope are not collimatable which has raised issues - see CN- this one if you think its a bit off - adjust it! - I did and its spot on (for my eyes anyway).
Optics clear. CA well controlled. see moon pic
2" crayford focuser incl 1 1/4" adapter(a $200 option I put on myself because the original focuser was pretty rough and caused some vignetting- binned it. Vignetting does not occur now even with an 82 deg FOV EP) .
50mm finder (not sure of mag - 7 or 8- bright wide field)
Ring/saddle & vixen mounting plate. Dew cap & Endcaps.
Losmandy plate, star diagonal, eyepiece, altaz mount in pics NOT included .
$550 but I'm open to offers. Pickup preferred (Lindfield - N suburbs of Sydney. Mt Victoria (Blue Mtns) also OK). Weighs about 12 kg with finder.
