I assume that's $US90...? "Fully coated" is passable but not great for astronomy. AOE have fully multi-coated 20x80s on their specials page for $AU129. http://www.aoe.com.au/on_sale_now.html FMC is a big improvement in brightness and contrast over FC.

Thanks Steve, might be better to go a little more and get the Triplets. Just advising a friend.

BTW I have sent two emails to AOE, one about a EQ6 and one about there 6" Refractor both have had no replies. There is also no way it seems to phone them.

Regards

Triplets will have a flatter field and shorter tubes. That's odd about AOE. I've dealt with them a fair bit and have always promptly answered emails. Last I heard from them was just before xmas.

I emailed them on the 27/1 re shipping cost for EQ5 and got no reply.

Due to this they lost the sale, for not only an EQ5 but for a new scope as well.

I thought this sounded familiar. Similar story with AOE around same time last year: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ead.php?t=7029
Lucky I'm always broke this time of year.

Well it's only fair. If you don't show up for work, you don't get paid.

netwolf, that is pretty strange you haven't got a reply from them yet.
I sent them 2 e-mails, one on 09.02.07 and one on 11.02.07 and I got the replies from them on 10.02.07 and 12.02.07 respectively.
Maybe you should try again e-mailing them.
