Helix Nebula NGC 7293 at 300mm

Decided to have a go at NGC 7293 with the 300mm lens. It looks very lonely in the full image. Two images, one showing the whole field and a crop showing 'detail'.
Details.
Canon 5DH with Canon 300mmm F2.8L @ F2.8, Hutech Nebula Filter, 5x20min at ISO200, processed with ImagesPlus (flats) and Registar (stacking).

Very nice Bert. I was surprised at how much detail and tonal range you were able to retain in the blown up crop shot - great job.

The first, whole area image, does invoke a feeling of how big and empty space can appear at times.

Cheers

Wow, the first one looks very much like an eyepiece view (without the colour).

There's some nasty compression there too, look forward to a full version upload!

Great stuff Bert.

Hi Bert,
great work, very nice images indeed.
The full image brings to mind a comment from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy "Space is big, really big"

all the best

The uncropped version does make it look small...such a huge field of view you have their Berty Beetle.

A nice image even cropped severely..well done.
