Corona Australis Wide Field - From Bretti

Hi all,

Here is my final photo from my week away at Bretti and Wiruna. This was back in late September, I can't believe how quick time has gone. Really need to get some new data now and am hoping to do so this weekend.

Here is 3 hours worth of 3 minute exposures, shot with my usual set up but at 200mm. I can't believe how huge this dust cloud is and how much it extends out of the frame. What I have attached here is a cropped version.

For the full frame and higher res version see my Flickr account here.

Feedback appreciated and thanks for looking all.

Cheers,

Jason

Nice one mate you've really teased it out there... are you planning to try again at the 70 end next time? How extended is it

Thank you Pat, glad you like it so much mate. Out of all the images I have posted, I am happy the most with this one's hi res version. I actually think it looks better zoomed in a bit.

Cheers Dunk, yeah mate, this one was a tough one to dig out all that dust without effecting the stars. There's an idea for next year, will definitely give it a try at 70mm.

Cheers John, I did some High Pass Filtering in this to make sure the dark cloud kept a somewhat 3D effect.

Thanks Rex, glad you like it mate. There has been a few Corona Australis images lately and was hoping this would give a different perspective. I think being such a wide angle shot helped to being something different to the somewhat familiar.
