Yahoo groups bloat

Just recently, i have noted my download usage has gone up markedly, relative to a few weeks back.
I have just been running Networx on my single connection to try and see whats causing it.
Basically, i have tracked it down to the fact that as soon as i open a new Yahoo group, the system downloads approx 1MB of data.
( Its a text only screen ?? )
If i toggle back and forth between 2 groups, or use F5 to immediately refresh the screen, it costs me 1MB every time. Once in the group i can open the posts and view etc without the usage creeping, but move between groups and splat.
Anyone else on Yahoo groups and getting this effect???
Tried Dr Google but cant find a thing on it so far.
