NGC 5189 at F10

Hello,
I tried the cute 5189 again last night, close to the horizon. I was racing against time (and the big trees...) and wasn't too confident about the autoguiding past a few minutes (i'm still just getting the hang of this)
so I imaged at ISO 1600...and only got 2 of 3 shots that were worth stacking.

Nevertheless it's a bit of an improvement on the previous one i did with the focal reducer.

cheers
frank

Thanks Scott,
I'm sure I can do better. Hope to give it a good go when It's higher in the sky with multiple shots stacked.
thanks for the feedback

Very nice.

Do you know what focal length and hence what pixel scale you're at there? (how many arc sec per pixel)

I'd be very interested to know. It certainly looks sharp for F/10 and 9.25" aperture, congrats.

focal lenght

Roger,
the C9.25 focal lenght is 2350 but I'm not sure how to calculate the arc seconds per pixels...

http://www.wodaski.com/wodaski/pick_a_camera.htm is a good page to start.

I'm not sure on the spec's of the 20Da, but for a 350D (which surely must be similar) you would be at 0.56 arc sec/pixel, which is very small (most people say to aim for 2 arc sec/pixel). So you're doing very well to have such a sharp image there.

For the 350D: 6.4 x 6.4 micron pixels and 3474 x 2314 pixels.

Anyway, it all just proves you've done very well to get such a nice image of this small object

Roger.
