New field photography, never tried this before.

I was coming home from work today, noticed some wild deer coming on to feed,so went back down the gorge, was a bit steep, but found a place to nestle into, and wait and observe.

Interesting just to watch wild animals, the deer did not know I was there, and walked closer to me,I thought the game was up when a crow sang out,one doe really took notice of its call and looked in my direction, she went back to feeding,I took a few images with my canon 50d which had a 400 mm lens.

Then I thought I'd use the Canon G1X and try something new, holding it up to scope and try and get an image. Was fairly pleased with this first attempt, its quite tricky balancing a rifle that is on a rock (I had a back pack on top of rock, but still wobbled a lot)and with other hand getting camera lined up.But was quite fun to see some of the better results.

The deer ended up so close,I could hear them feeding, was good to get back up the gorge and head for home.

Top tip. You can buy a smart phone mount and put it on your scope and look and take pictures through your smart phone. I've seen video's of combatants in Airsoft videos doing this. They even shoot with it mounted. You can also get mounts for smaller digital cameras too.
