Helix Nebula

Hi all

I spent plenty hours on this one but struggled much with processing , I suspect it is the new illumination used for street lightning in our town , I suspect my LP filter is not designed to cope with the the new street light technology.

Two different versions of the image are presented.

124(10.3Hours) Frames of 196 lost 72 (6Hours)loss due to extreme LP ,ISO 800, Darks , Flats & Bias Frames Used.
SW200p ,Eq6 Mount,Canon 1100D Modded.

Seen much better versions of this image on this site but here goes.

Thanks for looking.

Andre

Nice effort Andre! The first is my preference. Shame about the high loss of subs.

Nice work, Andre, especially with a DSLR from a light-polluted site!

Well done Andre, I can understand the problems of shooting in light pollution. You have done very well.

To get the "eyebrow" with a DSLR in severe light pollution is quite a result.

Yes an epic effort from your skies, looks very good to me. No point comparing to those from better skies with dedicated CCDs

Nicely done Andre. I prefer the first version. Bummer about the street lights. Something all us city dwellers struggle with.

Cheers

Steve
