F1 Singapore Qualifying 20 Sep 2014 22:30 AEST ONE HD

Coverage of the Qualifying session for this weekend Singapore Grand Prix
will begin on Saturday at 22:30 AEST on ONE HD.

Coverage of the race itself on Sunday will be on TEN starting at 21:30 AEST.

Thunderstorms are predicted on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday with
temperatures ranging from 26C to 31C.

The Safety Car coming out is a common sight on this narrow street
circuit and the outcome of a race can turn on the timing of a pit stop
when it inevitably does.

As Ron posted, the rules governing what type of information the pit wall
can now radio the drivers has been clarified by the FIA.
See http://www.formula1.com/news/headlin...4/9/16349.html

Where this will no doubt become interesting is where a system failure,
such as with ERS or the DRS wing, requires a reset by the driver.
In the past, the pit wall would provide instruction on what ctl-alt-del
button presses on the wheel had to be made. Now the drivers will
just have to know what to do.

The drivers should get their six year old Sons/daughters to tell them what buttons to push.

It should be an interesting race, with the main focus being on the Merc duo being at it's peak.
Cheers

Hi Ron,

It was a cracker. At the end of Q3 I was wondering whether Ricciardo was
going to manage a second timed lap before the chequered flag fell.
The roar of the crowd was great to hear when he was momentarily P1.

Only 7/1000ths of a second between HAM and ROS and they even managed a
handshake.

There is an article over at the BBC by Andrew Benson stating that the FIA
backtracked on the ban on radioing advice on the car's systems. The ban
on driving advice still applies. The ban on systems advice will not come
into play now until the start of 2015.
See http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/formula1/29276492

Ecclestone said he was behind the ban.

D'oh! I missed the quali's
Thanks for the updates guys.
Massa's comments are interesting, I think he missed the point of the ban
Tho his comment does reinforce that the ban was a little premature, the teams need time to get the systems in place for the change.

Edge of the seat stuff near the end, with Hamo wondering if his tires would last then doing the fastest lap of the race.
The podium was the most friendly one in quite a while,
hand shakes, smiles and hugs.
How fast is that Mercedes, ?
25.5 seconds gained on the others in about 12 laps
Comes in gets new tires and passes Vetell in less than a lap.
Sad about Nico Rosberg, but now they are on a level playing field.
Let the best man win,but Go Lewis
Cheers
