If I were to lose an original image, could I retrieve the copy that

Yes, but it would only be a 200 kB or smaller version of it!

If you uploaded it as an attachment in a thread then you should just be able to click on the image to make it as full size as possible and then right click on the image and "Save image as" to save it to your hard drive.

But as Barry says you will only get back the less than 200 kb file.

Thank you Barry, Greg, and Richard. It's only hypothetical. Actually I have to find out how to retrieve pics from Astrobin as well, should I ever need or want to.

Might be worth getting a Google Drive or Dropbox account to store your full-size images?

As an aside, is anyone else here having issues connecting to Astrobin right now?

Weird, after investigation I found that Astrobin is being blocked for me by my IP provider - will have to fix this. Will use an alternative connection for now.
