Modified Canon 350D

Hi all,

I am planning to have a go at some "digital astrophotography" in the near future. My previous attempts at astrophotography were many years ago and ended with plenty of rolls of ektachrome in the trash can. At that time I figured it better to look at David Malin's pictures as he had the funds of the Australian taxpayer assisting his images.

It's time for another go, this time digital !!!! I am planning to buy a Canon 350D Camera as I already have 2 high quality lenses from my Canon Film SLR that will fit it.

I am looking to buy the Camera as modified by Hutech for astrophotography and sold by Optcorp

Is there anyone in Australia that sells the modified Cameras, or can do the modification in Australia so I end up with the same thing?

The modified Camera by Hutech costs over $2k Australian which sounds a lot to me when you can buy the Camera body locally for under $1,000.

John, there is a guy in Australia (David Burren) that does the mod, mentioned in this post. h0ughy has had some dealings with David, I understand he was very pleased with the work done, and I believe that buying the camera and getting the mod done locally would be cheaper.

Good choice John...who ever you choose to purchase the camera from you will be happy.

Does this mean it's time to sell all those Pentax eyepieces for a GEM......lol

Ok I fully recommend the mod by David, just mention my name and he will charge you extra!
