Swan nebula and triffid nebula

Am using a hartman mask and laptop computer to improve focus. details of pics are :
1 Swan nebula 1@ iso 1600+ 2@ iso800 stacked in registax , levels& curves in ps, filtered in neat image , exposure 136 secs using homemade interval timer. 2 cropped above
3 Triffid nebula processed as above
4 cropped above
All shots unguided most discarded due to trailing

All are very nice. I like the enlarged Trifid the best.

Hi 5ash or philp, i found out a long time ago, get the system guiding or autoguiding. The potential is there. You will find even the 'good' images are better. Meanwhile you are getting much better at squeezing out the detail.

Nice shots there. Yes guiding (auto or manual) is the go. That said, thats pretty good going for no guiding. My mount has slow (and controllable) perioding error that doesnt allow unguided shots that long. They have to be guided.

tracking with my lx90

scott so far ive managed 30% good photos at 150sec exposure at f7. i will have to push the limilts, philip
