We will have 5 people observing if Alex can get a lift with his 12".
A lady from Casino called today and wants to have a look.
I am taking a talk on astronomy at the CMCA village tomorrow night.
(Campervan Motorhome Club)
Might get some interest there.
Lets hope it is clear Fri nt.

The numbers you pulled at your talk is surprising... did you letter box drop Lismore as well?
I am still coming but with no scope it seems.. but I have never had any face to face contact with anyone interested in astronomy (other than in a shop) so that is the draw for me to meet some like minded folk.
Might be able to borrow a car for the night but still working on a result.

Back for the morning.
The fire is at least 2 klms away and the wind has died, it may burn out. You cant see where they really are during the day and they always seem close.. night gives away their exact poss. Mind you 2 kls is nothing for one when the wind blows. The big one 3 years ago did all its damage in one afternoon it was uncontrollable.
It wont be a problem if the wind does not get too strong they are managable but with the right wind it can run faster than you can. So long as I am at the house when it passes it wont hurt as I have been burning off ..still the worry is stuff I burnt 2 weeks ago in these conditions will still burn.
For once I am happy to see the cloud cover building.

Hi Guy's
Sorry I have been quiet for the last week with the puter in the shop. And
appologises to Glen I couldn't make the evening. We were engulfed with
smoke from a fire in Wyan to our SE-ish and smoke coming from Alex's area
west of me. Which effects my sons asthma, and make him pretty crook
at times.
Still I hope everyone had a nice evening, the seeing here wasn't the best
due to said smoke, but hey ya gota love the rain Waaaahoooo!!! was almost
looking to order some water in. Plus we got our veggie garden in before
it all hit. Hopefully it'l clear a lil bit, and the locals will give us a day or so
before they start, but then again the fire ban comes in at today's end, so
maybe not. At least the rain will have doused the fires.
regards,CS sunny days.... hope to see you at the next one

How do you put out a flood???
Within 24 hours of last post it started to rain, pull out the Ark plans stuff, 100mm a night back down for a father's day thing at the school and fire is the last of my worries.
