Smile Meade Etx 90

Hi,
This is my first post on this forum. I am wondering if i should get the Meade etx-90 telescope. I want to use it for planet viewing and also deep sky objects. But I'm not sure if it is good for viewing deep sky objects. Ice got another telescope at the moment but it is terrible. Gives me views of saturn's rings an Jupiter's moons. But the mount on it is a headache to use as it is so stiff to move up and down. I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of the Meade ETX-90.

Kind regards,
Frostyricho

welcome to IIS frosty

Take some time have a good search round the site ,theres lots of great info
here on choosing scopes .

On the etx 90 , I honestly havn't looked through one , the 125 I have and
it seemed fine , certainly portable if thats important .

A lot is what you want from a scope and the little compromises you take on board along the way, and 8" dob will show you a lot more than a 90mm mak but its not as compact as those small scopes.

good luck with your choice and enjoy your time here friend

The thing is that i want something that will fit in my mums car. Like a reflector or something. Thats why i was thinking of the Meade ETX-90 but that isn't a telescope for viewing deep sky objects. Maybe a big reflector that is between that price range. Sorry for being so fussy.

Take a look at my thread here in GC , titled 'Heads UP' , it would suit you to a 'T'.
Brian.
