Ascom ALTAZ GOTO Driver

Hi we Found a ALTAZ goto Ascom Driver on the net today !

I ran the program and it loaded the driver into Ascom .

I Plugged our Merlin Bluetooth straight into the Orion Teletrack ( Merlin ) mount port on the mount yes that is correct no hand controller needed and started Stellarium scope up then select mount type in the ascom settings long and lat and also SH (Southern Hemisphere ) com port of the Bluetooth and altitude hit ok .

Then hit connect in Stellarium, scope and then hit the start Stellarium button up come Stellarium I clicked on a object clicked on the scope control which brought up the scope control panel hit sync and it synced to the target I clicked on them clicked scope selected another target to goto clicked current object and then slew and away the Orion Teletrack went To the target.

This also works in Cartes Du Ciel and you don't need Stellarium scope in Cartes Du Ciel just select the ALTAZ driver in ascom hit ok and hit connect .

Enjoy.

If you have a skywatcher ALTAZ GOTO mount Or Orion Teletrack or a Allview mount let us know and I will send you the link to the driver.

We have Bluetooth adaptors for the allview and the Merlin (Teletrack) no hand controllers needed for these two mounts.

Gday Cathy

I have an AZEQ5 and have been playing with writing my own AltAz driving app for doing solar, ( but not as an ASCOM driver ).
Certainly be interested in testing out the driver to see what it does, as i have noted the std commands used for doing stuff has changed recently, esp the way gotos get done.

I have it about 80% complete. Working but interface not pretty. Finishing it has stalled due to work commitments. Haven't forgotten to post it here when done.
