Yeah not bad, not bad at all...gives Marcus' version (the best I have seen of this object thus far) a real run for its money!... and he is going to win the DM's this year BTW
Thanks Rick. It took a while to tame the stars as they were a bit too dominating.

Cheers Mike. You got a hot tip. Are there odds running this year?
Good one Greg! I quite like the deep magenta you've got going on there.
Stirrer!!
For the record, my version didn't get a guernsey from the Prof!
Thanks Marc. Your rendition is quite spectacular.

Would have from me ...besides could still get a highly commended
Oh and Greg, again, your Wolf is excellent!!
Mike
Ta Mike. The main issue I had with this image was the stars were too dominant in the original versions. I had to tame them without damaging them. I tried the PI routine but it damaged the stars and the colours of the nebula. It probably needed more fiddling with the settings of the mask and the various steps. Photoshop with some masking and curves did it easily. I plan on mastering PI but I can see it could be a slow process.
Very nice piece of work Greg. I don't see all the images here by any means but one of your most 'natural' and polished looking results that I've seen. The processing time has paid off. Something to be very happy with.

Thanks Phil. That's anice compliment as I am striving to make my processing more natural. Its almost a contradiction "natural digital processing".
Not anymore, I'm not. My STL-11000M sensor or glass chamber has cracked. I'm done for.
$3K repair bill (I've asked to send the camera to SBIG to make sure it's not the sensor, but, just the glass chamber).
I'm just not even thinking about it anymore. I paid $1K the other day for an FW8-STL and have paid PreciseParts for an adapter for the Extender-Q (like a Feldstein #6) which got sent to the wrong address (old address in PayPal) and was marked as a successful delivery as no signature was required (I'm chasing this up by writing a letter to the address and asking them to send the damn thing to me, as it's of no use to anyone).
Such a magnanimous waste of money. If it turns out to be more than the $200 repair of a cracked chamber, and I end up with an >$8K paperweight, I think I'll just sell everything and get out of the game.
