NGC 6357 in infrared - reprocess

There wasn't a lot I could do to improve this one given that the data was pretty ugly but I think this version is an improvement.

Cheers

Steve

I probably should have mentioned that Rick. According to Don Goldman the artefacts around the bright stars are due to the anti-reflection coatings on the CCD sensor not being optimized for infrared wavelengths.

Hm,anti reflection coating causing reflections, kinda odd.....Still,a great piece of work Steve.Well done.

Thanks Louie. I think the key thing is that anti-reflection coatings, being interference filters, are optimized for visible wavelengths and, given that IR wavelengths are longer then you can still get stray reflections.
