NGC 4755 (Jewel Box)

Another one from way back in March, NGC 4755.

This was a quick snap through the LX200 on the first night I had the 350D. There's a little trailing (not visible in this small image) and the colours aren't vibrant on the stars, but it's nice still.

It's a shame it seems on all these exposures from the LX200 with F/6.3 reducer I am loosing the edges because of distortion (non-flat field). Quite disapointing if I ever want to do more imaging prime focus on the LX with the 350D. Not sure if there's anything I can do about it, suggestions?

Love the Jewel Box..... Not sure I've ever observed without a quick look at the Jewel Box - I believe it was my first DSO I purposely observed too.....

That's a very nice eyepiece-quality image, Roger. Shows exactly what it looks like. great job.

Look forward to your next attempt on that one, with longer exposures it'll be even more pleasing.
