He lights up my life.

My husband thoughtfully fitted some sensored flood lights on the back verandah this morning.
He said that they will light up those areas where the other 2 sets of flood lights can't reach.
Oh joy.

Some people just don't understand when you say turn off the lights and see more.

i am assuming that these flood light have off switches... turn them off when you are outside and back on when you come back in

but it is probably safety that he has in mind. get many break ins in your area?

There's no On/Off switch, just controls for a timer and sensor distance.
The purpose of the lights is to illuminate the rear stairs, so safety is his main concern.

I'll get over my mad by the end of the day. I hope.

Jeanette. The thoughtfullness of your husband is to be admired but did he not consult with you first? I think the 'safety factor' must have come into it at some stage.
Re; the 'no on-off switch', it sounds like they are wired incorrectly as the lights should be controlled from the original light switch.(if fitted), If a new installation, then I suggest rewiring to include a (newly fitted) internal switch to turn them on or off. Do not leave on sensor only. (Sparky talking here).
I'm sorry to say but this is exactly the type of 'intrusive lighting' that we are battling against. Check out the IDA (particularly 'Flagstaff in Arizona) & SOLIS sites for more info on how to reduce this 'scourge on our communities'... L.
ps. As Geoff has suggested, perhaps small red globes...
pps. I can image Jeanette out doing some ob'ing, when suddenly the cat/dog runs across the yard & WHAMO!!!!....

Just set the sensitivity so low it would take a low-flying 747 to trip it.....

Don't get mad, get even Confiscate the TV, VCR, DVD remotes etc until such time as your hubby lobotomises the lighting in to a sane setup.

Alternatively, a catapult and 6mm ballbearings, air rifle etc work wonders ...

He can't get the sensor to work, it needs to be facing downwards where people walk, not straight ahead.
