M65 and M66 Lum 7 hours

This is a project I am working on at present. Slowly collecting the data on nights when it is not howling with wind and rain.

This is a crop but I am pleased with the star shapes across the field in general.

Detail is looking pretty good overall I think.

Thanks guys, the seeing on these nights has been a little average at my location. I am expecting about 20-25 hours ought to be enough on these galaxies but it might blow out just to get the last little bit of noise out.

I have been going deep for a while and for the conditions I have it tends to pay off. The detail is quite nice and should put all comments regarding large GSO RC's as being duds to rest. I am considering getting an AOX for this system but that will mean a flattener will be out of the question then.

I am about to take possession of the new mirror back system in the next week or so and that will require some testing of that too. I expect it will stop any further flex of the imaging system. I have found that 20 degrees rotation from north works well at present with the old system and produces good stars across the entire sensor. I will put up corners if anyone is interested.

Really nice detail, with a very soft image management. You'll take also RGB?
Cheers,
Fabiomax

Excellent work Paul, like the way you processed the cores to bring out detail, tricky.

Fabio I am waiting for a couple of nights to do the RGB as well as more luminance. So stay tuned.

Not this year Ray. The time is slipping now and I will be lucky to finish the RGB after the Lum is done. It is now transiting quite early, but if I am lucky I will get a few nights to get the rest of the data. However I am wanting to do all three in the next few years.
